Shanti Charity Yoga
Breath & Heart Based Hatha Yoga
☮️ Shanti
meaning peace, calmness, tranquility — a deep inner stillness, the soul’s natural state.
🧘🏼♀️ Breath-based Hatha Yoga
meaning that our body movements — the asanas, the poses — are led by the breath.
The breath is our guide, our guru, as the father of modern yoga, Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, expressed it. You can say that the breath and the body are dancing — and the breath always leads.
Breath is life. Awareness of our intimacy with breath as life— that is yoga.
When you are in the breath, you are in life. You are in the moment.
In other words: breath is everything.
Breath-based yoga lifts our asana flow and our connection to inner essence to new heights.
💜 Heart-based Yoga
meaning Yoga with Heart — for animals, people, and the planet.
It means we connect to the heart — in asanas, pranayama, and meditation —
And we reach for a life lived from the heart.
🎗 Shanti Charity Yoga
is part of the Felíni Art & Heart vision —
a way to let every breath and every practice ripple outward as compassion in action.
Our yoga classes are donation-based, and all proceeds support
the Felíni Stray Cat Projectand other small acts of kindness.
Through yoga, we connect body, breath, and heart —
And remember that everything we do can make a difference.
“When the heart opens, kindness flows
— and healing begins for all living beings.”
🌿 What yoga means to me
Yoga, for me, is not about performance or perfection.
It’s about breath, presence, balance, self-reflection, health, healing, compassion, kindness, and gratitude for life — a longing for a closer connection to my soul and the divine.
Yoga is like coming home.
Shanti Charity Yoga was created to merge personal well-being with shared compassion.
Each class becomes both a practice of inner healing and a gesture of outer giving.
Together, we strengthen not only ourselves — but the circle of life around us.
💚 My yoga credentials
I’ve been practicing yoga for almost twenty years — and I can truly say that my life would have been very different without it, in more ways than I can count.
Yoga has supported me through change, challenge, and healing — including recovery from an occupational accident and a spine injury. It helped me get back on the horse, so to speak — not the same horse, but perhaps the one I was meant to ride.
Over time, I realized that yoga is far too valuable to keep to myself.
So I took the next step and became a certified Meditation Instructor (YTT50)at Arhanta Yoga School, and then a certified Yoga Teacher (YTT200) in Breath-Based Hatha Yogathrough Akasha Yoga Academy— a truly fantastic school with devoted teachers and inspiring masters. The education is rooted in the traditional Hatha Yoga lineage taught by Patanjali and Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, among others.
I am currently continuing my studies toward the YTT500 level, deepening my practice and understanding every step of the way.
💫 My teaching approach
I teach Breath & Heart-Based Hatha Yoga—
including asana, pranayama(conscious breathing), and meditation.
We keep it simple, grounded, and nurturing. And for me, yoga with a smileis important.
Every class is adapted for mixed levels, focusing on awareness and inner work rather than complex achievements.
Of course, if you’re up for handstands, I’ll gladly help you — but that’s not our main goal.
As in life, yoga is not about how far we stretch,
but how present we are while stretching.
🌸 Why charity yoga?
Because yoga and compassion belong together.
When we share our practice for a purpose, we expand its meaning —
We turn self-care into shared care.
Each donation-based class contributes directly to the Felíni Stray Cat Projectand helps fund food, medicine, and sterilizations for the stray cats in Crete.
Some classes may also support other small local causes aligned with our values of kindness and sustainability.

💛 Kindness as strength
Kindness is at the heart of everything we do —
in art, in yoga, and in life.
We are firm believers that kindness matters —
and that it is the only way forward for a better world.
Kindness is a strength— not a weakness, nor naïveté —
but courage in its gentlest form.
It’s the quiet power to care, to act, and to create beauty even in the midst of hardship.
It’s not always easy — stumbling and falling is part of it —
But we continue to practice.
When we practice kindness, we create connection.
When we connect, we heal.
And when we heal, we change the world — softly, breath by breath.
🙏 Join the movement
Whether you join a class, share a post, or simply carry the message of compassion in your daily life — you are part of the movement.
Together, we breathe, move, act, and give.
Together, we create change.

“May all beings be free from suffering.
May our actions serve life in all its forms.”
Om Shanti
