Kittens need healthy
moms to survive.
We deeply believe in taking care of every little life born. They all matter.
We also believe in sterilization to reduce the number of kittens being born to hard lives and early, painful deaths.

We love them all
- how can we not!?

And I guess, there are always some dogs and other animals in a cat project!;) Love is love!
You can follow the story of these two puppies on FB. Mio and Mina.

Felíni Stray Cat Project is on FB (and on Insta, not so good on that one yet) - please come and follow us! Meow!
The Felíni Stray Cat Project
🐾 Helping one life at a time — because every life matters
🐾 The Felíni Cats
The Felíni Stray Cat Project is a small, privately run charity promoting health care and compassion for stray and feral cats in a neighborhood in southern Crete.
Our mission is simple:
to create a kinder environment for animals and people alike —
one cat, one act, one day at a time.
“We may not change the world by helping a stray,
But the world will surely change for those we help.”
🌿 How it began
The project began quietly in 2016.
We had already called southern Crete our second home for more than ten years and had slowly gotten to know the neighborhood’s many stray cats — some friendly, some frightened, all hungry, many unwell.
It started with one small act of care, then another.
By 2018, it had become a more organized effort, and in 2020, it grew into the heart behind our Art for Change initiative — Felíni Art, Heart & Handcraft.
The idea was simple and deeply personal:
If I could turn my art and yoga into a means of funding veterinary care, food, and sterilization — maybe I could make a real difference for a few little souls.
So I did. Simple as that.
💕 What we do
We are not a shelter — we are a care and compassion project.
Together with our local veterinarian and a few dedicated helpers, we:
• Provide medical treatment for sick and injured stray cats.
• Offer regular parasite control and deworming.
• Promote and help fund sterilizations to prevent suffering and overpopulation.
• Feed and monitor cats in our neighborhood.
• Bring awareness and education about responsible care and kindness toward animals.
Everything is financed by our own work and by Felíni Crafts—
our art and jewelry project that donates at least 50% of its profits — often much more — directly to this cause.
🐈 The challenge
Crete is a beautiful island — but behind its charm lies a sad reality.
The cats who enchant tourists in summer often struggle to survive the long, cold, and rainy winters when visitors leave. Food becomes scarce, and many suffer from illness, injury, and exhaustion.
The lack of spaying and neutering leads to countless kittens being born into hardship.
Their survival often depends entirely on the compassion of strangers — people willing to catch them, bring them to the vet, care for them during recovery, and cover the costs.
This is what we try to do — one life, one act of kindness at a time.
🕊️ Our philosophy
We believe every sentient being — human or animal — has intrinsic value.
And we believe that empathy is learned through experience:
When people witness care, they become more caring.
When they see a stray cat treated with respect, their attitude can change.
Our hope is that this little project — also shared through our Facebook page — will ripple outward, inspiring people to take action in their own neighborhoods.
We may act small, but we think big.
“Slowly—slowly—sega—sega, as they say in Greece —
We will change the world together.”
💜 Who we are
I’m Gøril Trondsen Booth, and together with my husband Bill, our son Nicolai, and our five adopted Greek ex-pats 🐈🐈⬛🐈🐈🐕,
we divide our time between Norway and Crete.
I spend several months each year in Crete, caring for the cats and coordinating vet visits — especially during the colder months when help is most needed.
When we’re in Norway, we are grateful for our two wonderful local caretakers — animal lovers who make sure all our furry friends are well looked after.
🌸 How to help
There are many ways to make a difference:
• Support our art and jewelry through Felíni Crafts— each purchase directly funds cat care.
• Visit, follow, or share our updates on Facebook: Felíni Stray Cat Project.
• Donations are possible — and deeply appreciated.
• A kind message or good wishes — it all matters.
• Join my Breath- & Heartbased Yoga classes.
• Take contact for privat yoga sessions.
• Arrange a Yoga Event - bring friends together, and I'll come visit with my Yoga mat.
Even the smallest contribution can feed a hungry cat, pay for medicine, or prevent another generation of kittens from being born into suffering.
Together, we make compassion visible.
🙏 From our hearts
Thank you for taking the time to read about our little project.
Thank you for caring.
The world needs more kind people —
and every act of love, however small,
can change everything for someone.
With love,
Gøril & the Felíni Family

Some heal and turn to a happy, healthy life,
like our little Kookie.
The 'one-eyed' bandit.

Others we have to help continue their soul journey. Life on the street has treated them too roughly. Like our sweetest brave Rafi! But at least, he left surrounded by love.
